Manage Subscriptions

Users can create recurring donations when making a donation via your website and Sermon Box Giving. Subscriptions can be managed in the admin area of your site or by users themselves on their profile page (typically located 
at:

MANAGE A SUBSCRIPTION:

1) Subscriptions (recurring donations) can be managed by going to the ONLINE GIVING menu, then clicking SUBSCRIPTIONS.

2) Locate the subscription you'd like to edit/manage by using the search bar or filtering options. On the Subscription overview page, you will also notice various information about each donation including Donor, Status, Cycle, and Renewal Date. 

3) Select a subscription by clicking the 'eye' icon. 

4) This is the individual subscription management page. You will be able to edit, cancel, or update a subscription. 


CANCEL A SUBSCRIPTION:

1)While on the individual subscription management page (see above), confirm the subscription is active by viewing the status labeled SUBSCRIPTION STATUS. 

2) If the subscription is ACTIVE, you can cancel the subscription easily by clicking the button below CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION. 

3) Allow the page to reload automatically. You should now see that the SUBSCRIPTION STATUS is marked as CANCELLED. 


MANUALLY CANCEL A SUBSCRIPTION:

You can manually cancel a subscription by visiting your Stripe Account Dashboard at  https://dashboard.stripe.com/dashboard.

1) Navigate to the SUBSCRIPTIONS menu.

2) Locate the desired subscription in the list or filter the list using the FILTER button in the upper left. 


3) Click the desired subscription to view the details or cancel the subscription.


4) Once you cancel the subscription in your Stripe Account Dashboard, you should see the changes reflected for that subscription in Sermon Box Online.


TROUBLESHOOTING:

A Subscription Doesn't Cancel In Sermon Box Online

If you've attempted to cancel a subscription in Sermon Box Online and it doesn't appear to have canceled correctly, confirm the subscription is canceled in your Stripe Account Dashboard. 

Search for the desired subscription under the SUBSCRIPTIONS menu. Then, view the status of the subscription. Cancel the subscription by following the instructions above.

Our users canceled the subscription on the Profile page but the subscription is still active

On rare occasions, there can be communication errors between Sermon Box Online and the payment processor (Stripe). If you notice an issue occurring with your users, first check the Online Giving Subscriptions page to confirm the subscription status. If you notice the subscription has the incorrect status, edit the status to the desired option. 

If you changed the status in Sermon Box Online and would like to confirm that it has in fact been changed, simply navigate to your Stripe Account Dashboard and find the desired subscription under the SUBSCRIPTIONS menu. Then, view the status of the subscription. Cancel the subscription by following the instructions above.
