Clearing up flagged soundtracks

Guide To Soundtrack Licensing

Why did I receive a claim on my video?

Facebook and Youtube use a digital fingerprinting system that soundtrack producers can use to easily identify and manage their copyrighted content on digital platforms. Videos uploaded are compared against registered audio files, looking for any matches.

When a video is matched to registered content, a copyright notice will appear on the video, and the content owner may choose to take certain actions, such as:
  1. Clearing the claim and taking no further action
  2. Tracking the video’s viewership statistics
  3. Monetizing the video by running ads against it
  4. Muting the audio that matches their music
  5. Or even blocking a whole video from being viewed

How Sermon Box handles audio soundtracks.

Sermon Box uses third-party producers and platforms to license audio tracks used in bumpers, trailers, and countdowns. While the audio tracks are licensed, in many cases, these soundtracks will need to be licensed for your organization's use. As explained in our customer service agreement, you are allowed to stream Sermon Box videos online for worship services or any other organizational event.

Sermon Box primarily licenses audio files from one of a few partner platforms:
  1. Soundstripe
  2. Musicbed
  3. Audiojungle

Since Sermon Box uses these services as providers for soundtracks, we recommend subscribing to Soundstripe/Musicbed for proper licensing. Each of the services offer low-fee monthly memberships for easy licensing to help you stay copyright claim-free.
